Badass Mudder: North West’s Best New Obstacle Course Race
On July 26th up to 3000 spectators and competitors will descend on the beautiful Crook O’Lune near Lancaster to participate in an exciting new event at Halton Park Estate, and Event Photos will be there to lend a hand. Participants get free finish line photos from us, and we’ll also be offering prints and other image products from our photographers work around the course.
Badass Mudder’s River Lune Challenge
A 10km obstacle course race bringing together athletes, fitness fanatics, thrill-seekers and those just looking for a good day out with their friends and family. Badass Mudder isn’t your average run-of-the-mill event, it isn’t even your average great event. It will be much more exciting than that – an extravaganza of fun that includes frolicking in mud, a massive water slide, river crossings, quarry scaling, crawling through tunnels, net climbs, wood runs, water splashes and even a trip on Concorde! Ok, that last one’s not true, but it will be a day to remember!
Do you need to be super-fit to complete the Badass Mudder challenge? The answer is no, not really. We won’t lie though. If you’re a couch potato who finds it difficult walking to the local shops, you’ll need to do some training between now and the event. Luckily for you we’ve designed 12-week and 6-week training programmes to make sure you are mentally and physically ready to complete the 10km obstacle course by July 26th.
BADASS TEAM-BUILDING
Whatever your fitness levels, teams make the challenge easier. Whether it’s a leg-up to scale a climbing wall or some friendly arms to pull you out of a 30m mud pit, you’ll appreciate having support on race day. And friends can share the fun too: Does anything sound better than sliding down Lancaster’s longest outdoor slide with your pals..? If you complete our course as a group, you’ll make friends for life. You’ll also get a Badass Finishers Medal, a Badass T-Shirt and a professional photo from Event Photos – but hey, you’re in it purely for self-satisfaction, right..?
FAMILY-FRIENDLY EVENT VILLAGE
Event day isn’t only for Badass Mudders. We want to look after the little badasses too! As well as start and finish lines near the event village, and some spectacular obstacles for spectators, we will have a free supervised mini-obstacle course for the kids who we are sure will want a muddy taste of what their parents are doing out on the course. Why should adults have all the fun!
CHARITY
Badass Mudder is directly supporting two official charities, Joining Jack and North West Air Ambulance. Our ultimate aim is for more money to be raised for charity than is paid in entrance fees. We also encourage participants to fundraise for charities of their choice – St John’s Hospice is one local charity some of our participants have mentioned, but there may be others that you bring with you to Badass Mudder and encourage fund-raising through sponsorship. If there is anything we can do to help raise the charity profile, just let us know.
Joining Jack: “Jack has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, DMD. There is no cure at the moment. We want to find a cure.”
North West Air Ambulance: “With two helicopters flying seven days a week, 365 days a year, we rely on the generosity of our supporters.”
